New Face on the SPA Committee...

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Neil Osment from NOA to the Executive Committee of the Sheet Plant Association. Neil replaces Raj Bhardwaj as Supplier Representative on the Committee and he will be working hard with and for our Supplier Members ensuring the SPA delivers value to them.

Before NOA, Neil had a successful 25 year career in the packaging industry working for multi-national Paper, Print & Plastics businesses (inc. LINPAC/DSSP, Alcoa, SCA & Smurfit-Kappa). These were at European Sales Director, Commercial Director & General Manager level. Achievements included:-

  • Leading a national sales team focussed on winning “blue-chip” customers & successfully gained 9 major, on-going FMCG clients. Increased sales by +£10m.
  • Turning around a business from major losses (-£1m) to profit through a cultural change programme.
  • Driving an operational system to develop factory efficiencies & deliver on-going continuous improvements. Increased manufacturing output by £7m.
  • Leading several teams to achieve successful change projects (e.g. Print Capabilities Investment, Warehouse re-organisation, and a Major Capital Installation).

NOA was formed in 2004 and offers packaging customers Coaching, Marketing and Research services to the Packaging Industry. NOA deal with regional, UK and European packaging customers offering a blend of these services as part of a co-ordinated “ring of support” for these companies.
