UK Corrugated Industry Trade Show 2015 - Report

14th April 2015

The UK Corrugated Industry Trade Show 2015 (proudly hosted by the Sheet Plant Association) was as expected a great success. A record number of attendees visited St. George’s Park over the two days of the Trade Show and wandered the floor viewing the goods and services of 40+ suppliers to the Industry.

Post-event, many suppliers have confirmed that record levels of business were achieved. Many companies reported their success and wanted to be photographed doing business. It was notable that those companies launching new products or services at the show had a fantastic reception from customers. Notably, Abaca Systems launched their new Customer Portal and sold licences to half a dozen customers at the show. Also other software including Box It All’s Ready Reckoner was demonstrated to a record number of potential customers and commitments have been made to trial the software in the coming months.

A supplier sponsored ‘free bar’ was fully-subscribed before delegates were called to be seated at the Gala Dinner. The 170+ dinner guests were entertained by Tony Hawks (see picture below: Ken Shackleton; Tony Hawks Tim Gray and Nick Kirby).

We are delighted to confirm that the Charity Auction raised over £14,000 for Climbing Against Cancer and Starlight (a charity that entertains and stimulates terminally ill children as a way of distracting them from the pain and suffering of their condition).

On the second day the doors were open to the wider Corrugated and other paper related Industries and there were an encouraging number of Trade Show visitors...this will be a feature of future Trade Shows.
