COVID-19 – Recent letters from BEIS and Defra to the UK's Manufacturing Sector

Please find attached new letters from BEIS (generic to manufacturing) & Defra (food chain specific)

George Eustice, the Secretary of State for DEFRA advises that he wants “to pay tribute, once again, to all of you working within our food and drink supply chains as you continue to feed the nation under such difficult circumstances. The country is grateful for all that you have done and continue to do.”

The Secretary of State for BEIS specifically notes that “firms and tradespeople in manufacturing, including supply chains, should continue to operate during this national lockdown. I would also like to make it clear that where it is essential to travel or to stay in accommodation, whether to get to your work or for the purposes of carrying out your work, those in the industry are able to do so.”
