Over 30 Years of Innovation: KMSS and the Evolution of SPOCS
At KMSS, we’re proud to reflect on a journey of innovation that spans more than three decades. From the earliest days of MS-DOS to today’s fully featured, modern application, our flagship software, SPOCS, has helped packaging companies streamline operations, improve accuracy, and respond more quickly to customer needs.
When SPOCS was first developed in the early 1990s, it was a pioneering tool—one of the first applications designed specifically for the corrugated packaging industry. The original version, built for MS-DOS, was a text-based system that enabled box plants to calculate pricing and manage orders and stock more consistently and efficiently than manual methods. Despite its simplicity, it represented a major leap forward and quickly became an indispensable tool for early adopters.
As technology progressed, so did SPOCS. It has evolved into a powerful, multi-module platform used by sheet plants and integrated manufacturers across the UK and beyond. Today, SPOCS features a modern user interface, integrates seamlessly with accounting and business systems, supports remote access, and provides real-time data for smarter, faster decision-making. We’ve stayed at the forefront by continually adapting to customer needs and making meaningful, practical improvements.
