SPA Bids Fond Farewell to Long-Standing Treasurer Allan Glen

The Sheet Plant Association (SPA) announces the retirement of Allan Glen from his long-held role as Treasurer. After many years of dedicated service, Allan steps down having made a lasting contribution to the stability, growth, and professional development of the Trade Association.

Allan, who is well known and highly respected across the paper-based packaging industry, has supported the SPA through numerous chapters of change and growth. His meticulous oversight of the Association’s finances and his unwavering support of its wider objectives have been instrumental in shaping the SPA into the thriving organisation it is today.

SPA Chairman Tim Gray paid tribute to Allan during the 111th Conference, saying:

“Allan has been a pillar of the SPA for many years. His integrity, sharp financial acumen, and calm, considered input at every stage have been invaluable. On behalf of the entire committee and our membership, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for the role he has played in our success. He leaves with our very best wishes – and our deep appreciation.”

To mark the occasion, Allan was presented with a special gift from McLaren Packaging: a rare vintage bottle of whisky, elegantly housed in a custom corrugated pack – a fitting tribute to a man whose career has been dedicated to the sector.
