SPA to Recruit General Manager to Support Chairman and Committee

The Sheet Plant Association is seeking to appoint a General Manager in a newly created role designed to support the Association’s next phase of growth and Industry engagement. 

Working closely alongside Tim Gray, Chairman of the Association, and the SPA Committee, the General Manager will take on both strategic and operational responsibilities, helping to coordinate Committee activity and support the day-to-day running of the Association in conjunction with the existing SPA marketing, accounts and office administration team:

The SPA plays a central role in supporting the Sheet Plant sector of the Corrugated Industry across the UK and Ireland, delivering a wide range of member initiatives, industry engagement activities, events, training programmes and support services. This appointment represents an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a highly respected and well-established Trade Association. 

The successful candidate will help maintain the high standards of event delivery, professional support and member engagement that the SPA is known for. The role requires a strong understanding of the Association’s objectives and strategic direction, alongside the ability to coordinate and support the ongoing activities of the SPA Committee. 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include helping to coordinate Committee activities, ensuring each Committee Member has a defined portfolio of responsibility, contributing to venue selection, supporting operational decision-making and providing creative input into the future direction and delivery of SPA initiatives. 

The General Manager will work alongside the SPA Chairman and Committee in helping to formulate engaging and inspiring Conference agendas, while the Chairman will continue to headline SPA events and lead the Association. 

The SPA is seeking a senior individual with strong Industry knowledge and connections, commercial awareness, and the ability to build and strengthen relationships across the sector. Experience within fibre-based packaging manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
